Where to get Convention Guidelines and portions to beware of

The ACE International Student Convention Guidelines are available free to download at http://www.aceministries.com/studentprograms/isc/

The South Pacific Student Convention Guidelines are available free to download at http://www.scee.edu.au/spscguidelines. If you are a South Pacific student aiming to attend an International Convention, be aware that there may be differences in the guidelines which you need to take into account.

Dramatic Monologue
As of July 2012, South Pacific Guidelines for Dramatic Monologue  have been altered to match the International Guidelines, which state no set and only one prop.

Dramatic Dialogue
As of July 2012, South Pacific Guidelines for Dramatic Dialogue have been altered to match the International Guidelines, which state no set and only one prop.

Puppet Play
The International Guidelines for Puppet Play state: Scripts must be tastefully presented, avoiding slang insinuation of questionable language. Also avoid references to television or worldly practices such as movies, dancing, or mixed swimming.
The SPC Guidelines on Puppets state: Scripts must be tastefully presented, avoiding slang, insinuation, questionable language, or references to television, and should be consistent with a Biblical Worldview.
I feel that the International version removes any doubt or dispute.

Why You Need Public Speaking Skills

Have you ever been invited to make a speech or prodded to enter a speech and drama competition? Most of us, horrified at the very idea, would reply, "No way. That's not for me." This is a normal and sensible reaction if you've never had speech or drama training.

In the same way, if you push a soldier armed with a feather duster into the heat of modern warfare, he's not going to be very courageous. However, if you arm him with state-of-the-art weapons and train him how to use them, he will be effective in his mission.*

Are you on a mission to effect change in your life or in the lives of those around you?

If you answered yes, then you'll need to be a communicator. Are you equipped with effective keys to powerful communication? Are you trained in how to use them?

If you answered no to either of the above, watch this video playlist that demonstrates tools that will help empower you to be effective in your mission.

A Music Standard You Can Aspire To - Video Playlist

Have you discovered the special handle A.C.E. Student Conventions have on what constitutes sacred music? In our liberal Christian pop era, do you get to hear this kind of music on a regular basis? Have you wondered, "How can I get familiar with it if I don't attend a church that features such music?"

My brother tells me the key to progress is not finding the answers, but rather, asking the right questions. My question became, "Who is producing online videos that demonstrate this style and give us a standard to aspire to?"

It surely is the way of the Lord that in the course of navigating a paddock of rabbit trails, I came upon a nest of such videos. Dozens and dozens of them. On YouTube. In Russian.

Their channel, broadcast from Germany, is RadioBM - The Bible Lighthouse. Nyet, I don't understand Russkii, but I don't need interpretation of tongues to know sweet sacred music when I hear it.

I'm blown away by the production quality achieved by this church-based television channel. I'm excited by the standard of performance in the singers and their accompanists. There are some great instrumental items too. And wow [hushed tone of awe], the performers meet the A.C.E. dress code.

Below is my playlist of music videos from RadioBM. Notice their poise, their facial expressions, their body language, their diction. This is music ministry. Student Conventions are about training yourself for such ministry. May you be blessed and inspired by these videos to go and make music likewise.

PS If you're from The Bible Lighthouse or know someone who is, I'd love to hear from you! Если вы из Библии маяк или знаете кого-то, кто есть, я хотел бы услышать от вас!

PPS If you know of other videos that meet A.C.E. music standards, please share with us!
